XPlane: How to Enhance your Flight Sim Experience

I think everyone who has ever used a flight simulator has come to that point that the build in mechanics are not enough and wanted to extend his flight sim. But good news we have 3 things how you can improve your simulator today, either for free or for a payment.

1. Planes

You have tried out any Airliner the sim features and you are board or you want something different to fly with? Or in the worst case you are on XPlane 11 which doesn´t even feature any good airliners in the base version? You always can improve your overall experience with adding new planes to your fleet. Sometimes it is enough to get a mod for an existing plane to improve it, for example the Zibo mod turns the mediocre 737 from XPlane 11 into an amazing airplane. However if you want to extend it to a study level point you have to invest some money, FlightFactor, FlightFactor offers amazing planes, however don´t buy the A350 or the IXEG 737 Classic!

2. Scenery

Your sim looks boring? All the airports look the same? I always was annoyed that my home airports Düsseldorf (EDDL) and Dortmund (EDLW) looked boring and unreal, so I decided to get some scenery addons. You might think spending money for the surroundings is unnecessary but it really makes it so much better. I was also in doubt as I bought the Dublin V2 scenery, however it is just amazing how detailed it is. If you want to save some money just try out some freeware scenerys.

You can expect good products from Aerosoft and Drzewiecki Design.

3. Plugins

The easiest ways to improve your website is by using different plugins, you can get a lot of them for free but some are quiet expensive. If you are not happy with how your traffic works, get a plugin! If you want more realistic pushbacks get a plugin! If you want better generated weather, also get a plugin! I think you get what I try to say, what ever you want to extend there will be some kind of plugin. My tips how to extend XPlane11 – get Better Pushback and XRAAS 2 (both for free!)
