XPlane: Zibo 737 Mod Review

Everybody knows that the standard Boeing 737 doesn´t perform well on XPlane 11. However the Zibo Mod is way better then the standard 737 and its even for free. But is it the best freeware plane out there?

 

What is included ?

 

The Zibo Mod 737 comes with an custom FMC and you can extend the plane with custom sounds to extend the level of immersion. The custom FMC allows you to program your flight plan and follow SID and STARS perfectly and in comparison to the JARDesign FMC, it works always and never let you down.

 

How does it look and feel ?

 

The cockpit model and the outside model is based on the standard XPlane Boeing 737. So you can expect a high level of graphic quality and very good textures. The plane is also compatible to all 737 liveries so you can always fly on the airline you want to fly with. Furthermore all textures are crisp and sharp and look also great when you zoom in on the outside model of the plane. However a big down side of this mod is that the cabine is not modelled at all. So you cant even go through the cockpit door. However this plane offers a nice wingflex. Overall the outside model and the cockpit is absolutely stunning and great.

How does it fly ?

 

This is the best thing about the plane are the flight dynamics and the FMC. The flight model is very good and it feels very realistic, furthermore most of the buttons in the cockpit are usable and you also need to set the pressure for you cruising altitude otherwise you will pass out, I love this feature it creates a lot of immersion.

The FMC is fully custom made by ZIBO. It is mind blowing how good it is coded and that it never fails.

 

Conclusion

 

The ZIBO mod 737 is stunning and it is for sure the best freeware plane on the XPlane forum, it also gets updates all the time. It has the qualities of a payware aircraft it is even better the a lot of planes at the price range of 40-50Euros. It is for free so check it out !
