Wing Panel Falls Off Japanese Prime Minister's Private Boeing 747
A laptop-sized panel has fallen off one of the Japanese Prime Minister's Boeing 747's during a flight from Tokyo to its base on the Northern Island of Hokkaido on Thursday the 11th of January 2017.
Officials noticed the panel was missing when the 747, one of the two 747's used by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, arrived at its base on the northern island of Hokkaido, a spokesperson for the Japan Air Self Defence Force (ASDF) said.
The piece of metal in question measured 38cm by 20cm and was an access panel near the pylon that connected on of the engines to the right wing. It has not be found.
The Airforce has stated that they will conduct an investigation into the reason why the panel fell of the Prime Ministers aircraft.
