Qatar boosts Thailand flights while upgrading their services
Qatar Airways has increased frequency for their Doha – Bangkok route, which boosts their passenger capacity to Thailand's capital to 5 flights per day.
Starting from March 25, the Doha-Bangkok route will be operated by a mix of Boeing 777-300ER, 787-8 and Airbus A340-600. With more direct flights, Qatar will stop using their Airbus A380s on this route until further changes made on 28OCT18.
The airline is taking advantage of its Middle East monopoly advantages to expand rapidly into Southeast Asia recently. Besides from the new service to Bangkok and the launch of direct service to Thailand’s Chiang Mai late last year, the OneWorld carrier is also preparing to launch direct service to the Thai city of Pattaya later this month, as well as service to Penang, Malaysia in February.
Currently operating 14 times per week to Phuket, daily to Krabi and four times per week to Chiang Mai, the additional service to Bangkok will take the number of weekly flight to the Thai capital to 42.
With the addition of A380, A350 and 787 into their fleet, Qatar Airways launch of 11 new destinations last year, including Thessaloniki, Greece, and Cardiff, U.K. Qatar Airways is also trying to improve customer services to enter an aggressive competition with their Middle East rival, Emirates.

Followed by Emirates revealing their new 'Game Changer' 777 suites, the airline introduced their new Qsuite for the first time at Kuwait Aviation Show along with the airline’s flagship Airbus A350-900. They will feature their new business class Qsuite on their new A350-1000 which are yet to be delivered.
The airline will load the front of its A350-1000 with 46 business class suites. However, only 24 Qsuites can be seen on their high density Boeing 777-300ER fleet which is mainly used on medium haul flights including London and Hong Kong.
We can say that Qatar’s QSuites are very space efficent. The seating capacity after having Qsuites on an A359 will stay exactly the same on the original copy. This means that even after transitioning into the QSuites, their A359 can still hold 36 business class and 247 economy passengers. This allows Qatar Airways to reduce cost as they do not need to remake a new booking system after capacity changes.
Qatar Airways operates a modern fleet of more than 200 aircraft to a network of more than 150 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America.
